Green Careers - 2025

Description :

Students will be asked to consider what it takes to run a Botanic Gardens and come along on a journey highlighting the various career pathways that exist within the gardens in horticulture, science, conservation, design, education and more.

Students Will:

  • Gain insight into the careers that exist within a Botanic Garden setting

Teacher can choose 2 of the following options for this program:

  • Pot up a plant to take home

  • Produce seed bombs

  • Construct a bamboo shelter 

  • Work in the Kitchen Garden 

  • ID an Oak tree; working as a botanist

Key focuses

  • Career options within the horticulture, land conservation, parks and gardens industries

  • The role of Botanic Gardens

  • The Aboriginal history of the site

  • Volunteer opportunities
