You and Me, Murrawee

Description :

Explore First Peoples culture and gain a deeper understanding of the Eastern Kulin Nations.


Children share in the reading of You and Me, Murrawee; a beautifully observed story of what life would have been like 200 years ago, told through the eyes of a young girl camping by the river with her family. This story then used as the basis for an exploration of First Nations culture through different experiences.


Students will:

 

  • Explore Indigenous resource plants and tools
  • Connect to native wildlife through song and dance
  • Look for aquatic invertebrates
  • Investigate animal tracks
